Things are getting a bit rocky

Lately I’ve been obsessing over creating rocks, stones and bricks.

I don’t know what it is. There’s something simple yet complex about doing these, especially when you are creating them in the forefront of the composition.

Maybe I like them because they are imperfect. Or maybe I like them because they challenge me to keep learning.

Whatever it is, they make for great practice.

What’s your obsession? Is there a unique part of your work that you find yourself drawn to again and again?

  1. You have a wonderful skill with painting rock surfaces and imbuing them with that essence of real texture. Beautiful.
