When you don’t have your usual supplies.

Really limited supplies.

It’s interesting to see what comes out artistically when you don’t have your usual supplies at hand.

I love travelling, and I love to paint in places away from home, but there are always new challenges to overcome when I do so.

I always forget something critical. (At least this time it wasn’t a brush.)

I never seem to pick a good weather day if I’m outdoors whilst doing this.

I almost always end up dropping my supplies in the dirt or sand.

But there’s something beautiful about having to overcome being unprepared. It stretches your skills and ability to adapt.

It reminds you that art is not about perfection.

Painting in the go reminds me of why I paint in the first place. To feel connected to something bigger than me.

Thanks for reading.

  1. Restrictions can sometimes be positive, if a little unnerving. Beautiful painting painted in the moment.
