What’s in your palette?

Nicely organized paints that do not reflect the reality of my studio.

Since I do mostly landscapes, my basic paint choices for my watercolors are relatively simple. I do not use many convenience colors and find that my basic palette is divided into my “all the time colors” and my “sometimes colors.”

My palette consists of:

Ultramarine Blue

Phthalo Blue (green shade)

Natural Sienna

Burnt Sienna

Quinacridone Rose

Azo Yellow

Quinacridone Gold

Sometimes I add:

Payne’s Gray

Perylene maroon

Pyrrol Red

Those are all Daniel Smith, with the exception of Burnt Sienna from Windsor and Newton.

I find that these colors pretty much do everything I need. I like my palette being simple and knowing where each color is.

What’s in your palette? What’s the best thing in your supply list?
